Aloe vera FAQ: The Questions People Actually Ask
A short page on purpose: the questions people actually type about Aloe vera, answered without padding. Follow the links for the long versions.
What does TCM use Aloe vera for?
Classically, it clears heat; the gel cools and moistens burned or sun-hot skin.
How do I take it at home?
Gel outside, extract inside only occasionally and briefly.
Who should not take it?
In traditional terms: whole-leaf latex is a harsh purgative, not for pregnancy or long use. In modern terms: pregnant or nursing women, anyone on regular medication, and people with chronic conditions should ask a professional first.
Consistency beats dose. A modest amount taken regularly usually does more than a heroic amount taken twice.
