Ingredients
- Chai Hu (Radix Bupleuri) 3~4.5 g
- Zhi Qiao (Fructus Aurantii) 4.5 g
- Sheng Jiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens) 3 g
- Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae) 3~4.5 g
- Jie Geng (Radix Platycodi) 3 g
- Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae) 4.5 g
- Yu Qian Cha 3 g
Explanation
- Chai Hu is the principal drug: bitter and acrid in flavor and slightly cold in nature, tending to disperse outward so as to drive pathogenic factors from the superficies of the body.
- Huang Qin is bitter in flavor and cold in nature, and is adept at clearing pathogenic heat from the Shaoyang channel.
- Zhi Qiao and Jie Geng move the qi of the upper jiao, the former raising it and the latter directing it downward.
- Sheng Jiang regulates the Stomach and directs adverse qi downward.
- Chen Pi promotes the flow of qi, arrests vomiting, dries dampness and resolves phlegm.

Harmonizes the exterior and the interior.
Dose
Decocted in water and taken by mouth in two divided doses.
