Location

2 cun directly below UB-40 Weizhong, between the medial and lateral heads of the gastrocnemius muscle. Note: first locate UB-57 Chengshan, then locate UB-55 Heyang at one fourth the distance between UB-40 Weizhong and UB-57 Chengshan.

Needling

  • Puncture perpendicularly, 0.7 to 1 cun.
  • Perpendicular insertion, 1 to 1.5 cun.
  • Straight insertion, 1 to 2 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.

  • Activates the channel
  • Alleviates the pain
  • Stops uterine bleeding
  • Treats genital pain

  • Low back pain
  • Pain and paralysis of the lower extremities
  • Heaviness and muscular spasms in the knee and calf
