Jia Cheng Jiang (Jiachengjiang)
Location
1 cun lateral to REN-24 Chengjiang, directly below ST-4 Dicang, over the mental foramen of the mandible.
Needling
- Straight insertion, 0.2 to 0.5 cun. Sensation: local distention and soreness.
- For trigeminal neuralgia: after finding the mental foramen in the mandible, slanted insertion in a medial downward direction, 0.5 cun. Sensation: electric, numb sensation extending to the lower lip.
- Perpendicular-oblique insertion medially and inferiorly into the mental foramen, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
- Puncture obliquely, 0.5 to 1 cun.
