Location

3.5 cun lateral to the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra, level with its lower border.

Needling

  • Straight insertion, 1-1.5 cun.
  • 0.8-1 cun obliquely in a medial direction.
  • Puncture perpendicularly, 0.5-0.8 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.

Actions

  • Improves qi flow between the Upper and Middle Burner
  • Eliminates local qi and blood stagnation

Indications

  • Enlargement of the liver or spleen
  • Gastritis
  • Enteritis
  • Mass in the abdomen
  • Prolapsed kidney
  • Indigestion
  • Feeling as if food will not pass through
  • Lumbar pain
