Si Feng (Sifeng)

Location

On the palmar surface, in the transverse creases of the proximal interphalangeal joints of the four fingers (excluding the thumb). Note: in most people, two creases will be found at the proximal interphalangeal joints. Sifeng M-UE-9 is located on the crease which is most prominent on flexion.

Needling

  • Prick to bleed or squeeze out a small amount of yellowish viscous fluid (effective even if no fluid comes out).

Actions

  • Expels wind
  • Resolves dampness
  • Promotes digestion

Indications

  • Malnutrition in children
  • Indigestion in children
  • Whooping cough (pertussis)
  • Arthritis of the fingers
  • Round worms in the intestines
  • Childhood diarrhea

Notes

These points are mostly used in young children to promote digestion. They are used for childhood nutritional impairment and childhood accumulation disorder.
