Yin Lian (Yinlian)

Location

2 cun inferior to ST-30 Qichong, on the anterior border of m. adductor longus. Note: the tendon of origin of adductor longus arises from the pubic bone and is the most prominent tendon in the groin.

Needling

  • Straight insertion, 1 to 1.5 cun.
  • Puncture perpendicularly, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  • Perpendicular or oblique insertion, 0.5 to 1.5 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.

Actions

  • Benefits the uterus

Indications

  • Irregular menstruation
  • Pain of the thigh and leg
  • Hernia pain
  • Pain in the inner thigh and knee
  • Leukorrhea
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Infertility

Notes

Moxibustion is recommended on this point for infertility.
