Yi Xi (Yixi)
Location
3 cun lateral to DU-10 Lingtai, at the level of the lower border of the spinous process of the sixth thoracic vertebra, on the spinal border of the scapula.
Needling
- Oblique insertion, 0.3-0.5 cun.
- Caution: deep perpendicular needling or deep oblique needling in a medial direction carries a substantial risk of pneumothorax.
- Slanted insertion, 0.5-0.8 cun.
- Puncture obliquely downward, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
- Moxibustion is applicable.

- Cough
- Dyspnea
- Febrile disease with no sweat
- Visual dizziness
- Attack by wind with absence of sweat

- Shoulder pain
- Scapular pain
- Back pain that radiates to the lumbar region with distention and pain in the hypogastrium
- Pain in the lateral costal region radiating to the heart and lungs

- Contraction of the axilla
- Pericarditis
- Asthma
- Hiccups
