LOCATION
With the hand lying prone, this point can be found between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones, in the hollow behind the metacarpophalangeal joints.
 When the fist is clenched, the point is on the dorsum of the hand between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones, in the depression proximal to the fourth metacarpophalangeal joint.
With the palm facing downward, the point is located on the back of the hand between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones, in the depression proximal to the  metacarpophalangeal joint.
  Note: this point may be located at the apex of the equilateral triangle formed by this point and the prominences of the metacarpophalangeal joints of the ring and little fingers.
NEEDLING
Straight insertion, or slanted toward the wrist, 1 to 1.5 cun.  Sensation: local distention and soreness, sometimes extending to the fingertips or forearm, or an electric, numb sensation reaching the fingertips.
 Puncture perpendicularly 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
 Perpendicular or oblique insertion directed proximally, 0.5 to 1 cun.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
NOTES
This is an important point for ear problems. It is known as ******the warm joy****** point. This is an extremely effective point for depression. It affects the thyroid and the pancreas. It is used in emergencies for exhaustion. This is one of the best mental points on the body. This point has a powerful sedative effect. It is a good point for acute sprain of the lower lumbar area (needle on the same side). It is a major distal point for the arms, elbows, shoulders, neck and back. The effected area should be moved while the needle is being manipulated. It may be used in place of SJ-2 Yemen for laryngitis, pharyngitis, red eyes, tinnitus, and deafness. This point dispels Heat from the outer canthus of the eye, side of the head and throat..
